Are you looking for a fun adventure with a touch of mystery & intrigue?

How about floating through an underground galaxy world of glow-worms, experiencing the fun of rainforest canyon river tubing or mix in some adrenaline with a cliff jump (optional).

This is a relaxing half day adventure that is fun, is in a beautiful place and takes you into an amazing cave environment with it's glow-worms.

Would you like to finish up with a relaxing hot shower and spa with a drink and a snack afterwards?

The trip starts with putting on our cave gear at our base in Greymouth.

You'll get thermal clothes to keep you warm and comfortable, a wetsuit, socks and river shoes, helmet and life jacket. We then drive you for 30 minutes to an easy practice river where we teach you the art of river tubing and make sure everyone is happy being on a tube in the river.

You'll then take a 10 minute walk with your tube through the rainforest to the start of the river tubing. This is a beautiful and fun section of river with some gentle rapids. You'll be joined together with other tubers to provide a stable snake of tubes but you can increase the challenge level by tubing the rapids on your own... (Dependant on river levels and ability)

Your river tubing takes us to the cave entrance where we will get some protection against the Maori Legendary Taniwha's, these are underground Dragons that keep you if you venture into their world!!!

This starts your float up into the cave done in the dark to the light of a galaxy of glow-worms in the roof. At the end of the float section we will spend some time with the glow-worms while having a hot drink and chocolate bar to keep us going before floating back out finishing with a tube jump. (optional)

Numbers

We operate with a maximum group of 12 people. Each trip is different depending on your interests and ability. You will be placed with a group that suits you.

Session Time

Trips run everyday except Christmas Day & New Years morning. Departure times are at 8am & 1:15pm (2pm October to March). Bookings are essential. We are particularly busy during Summer and require bookings to be made at least 2 weeks in advance during this period.

Guidelines & Restrictions

You need to be of average fitness and have reasonable agility levels. This experience is not suitable for those who are claustrophobic or feel uncomfortable in the dark. You must be at least 8 years of age to participate in this activity.

You will be required to complete a medical disclosure form. This helps us to keep you comfortable and safe. Your guides are fun, qualified and well experienced. When you come on this experience, we'll also give you bonus vouchers to use during your stay in the local area.

Extra Info

You will need to bring a swimsuit and a towel. We provide everything else - including thermal clothing and boots.
