Overview

This is a rare opportunity to actually drive a V8 race car on a professional track. See the world through the eyes of a championship driver in a full-on session that includes pre-drive tuition, tuition laps driven by our instructor (as a bonus one of your guest can ride along) and 1 session of furious laps behind the wheel of a race-modified V8 Holden or Ford.

Then it's time for some Formula style kicks as you discover the high speed thrills of single seater racing. Fly at speeds of up 160kph as you cover 1 session of searing laps of the track. Discover the excellent power to weight ratio of single seater racing as you learn the secrets and theory of championship driving.

This driving experience includes:

* Use of overalls, helmet and boots (if required),

* Drivers Briefing/Tuition,

* 2 tuition laps with your instructor (as a bonus one of your friends can ride along),

* 1 drive session in a V8 Race Car with instructor,

* 1 drive session in a Formula Challenge car,

* Debrief and PI data analysis,

* Certificate Presentation with PI analysis.

Location

Taupo (Taupo and Central Volcanic Plateau - North Island)

This experience takes place at Taupo Motorsport Park, Broadlands Road, Taupo. Turn left at the main roundabout by Woolworths and proceed up Spa Road for 2.5 kms and keep left at y- intersection as Spa Road changes into Centennial Drive .Drive another 3 km until Broadlands Road T-intersection. Turn left and drive down Broadlands Road - you are now driving next to the main straight of the racetrack. Once at the end of racetrack, turn left again and GATE 1 is 50 metres on your left.

Numbers

We operate with a maximum of 10 people per session. For safety reasons, we limit the number of cars on the track at any one time to five. You will be with others on the day, but our instructors are available at all times to guide you and give you advice.

Session Time

The experience operates on pre-booked dates at the circuit. Bookings should be made at least 2 weeks in advance and are subject to availability. The experience is 2-3 hours in duration. This includes a tuition/safety brief.

Guidelines & Restrictions

You must be 14 years or older and be able to drive a manual vehicle. This is not recommended for people with a back or neck injury or during pregnancy. Our instructors are Motorsport New Zealand licensed.

You will be required to sign a waiver prior to undertaking the activity. A damage indemnity waiver with excess is available at an additional cost of $100 (to be paid on the day). The day is made up of 2 sessions.
