Overview

Jet Boating on the Dart River. It's our pleasure to take you on a journey of rare and special beauty into the pristine wilderness of a World Heritage Area, deep into the heart of Mt Aspiring National Park, in the Southern Alps of New Zealand.

Your Dart River experience has a magnificent backdrop. Snow capped mountains range over a glacial valley, blanketed by ancient forest, it's breathtaking and said to be the most scenic Jet Boating in New Zealand. Hold on tight as we take a 1.5 hour ride along the Dart River amongst towering mountains and the refreshingly beautiful wilderness of the Mt Aspiring National Park.

We then arrive at our destination and take a short and easy walk, of 20-40 minutes, through ancient forests, unchanged for 80 million years. Hear an informative and entertaining commentary on the area and its history - including the quest by early Maori for highly prized pounamu (greenstone).

It's then time to board our back road coach for a journey to paradise and beyond. This 40-50 minute trip allows the opportunity to explore a region filled with spectacular vistas which have inspired many talented film makers to bring their projects to this area, including Lord of the Rings. From here we then make our return trip to Queenstown.

The Dart River is located within the Mount Aspiring National Park, north west of Queenstown, South Island. The price includes complementary shuttle from Queenstown with informative commentary and photo stop en-route to Glenorchy.

Tours are restricted to small numbers and are fully guided.

Session Time

We suggest you allow 6 hours for a round trip from Queenstown. Tours depart from Queenstown at 8.00am and 12.00pm

Guidelines & Restrictions

In summer months bring sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and insect repellent. In winter months dress warmly - wear a hat and gloves. A windproof jacket is ideal for all months. This experience is not suited for those aged under 3 years of age. Children prices are for valid for those aged 3-15 years old.

Digital photos are available at the end of the journey in our Glenorchy shop. Throughout the day refreshments will be provided.
