This challenging expedition combines abseiling a breathtaking 35 metre tomo, climbing waterfalls, a flying fox through the dark and cave tubing down the river. It's definately one unforgettable adventure!

Location

Hamilton (Waikato - North Island)

The Waitomo District is located in the King Country region, which covers the western central North Island from Taranaki to the Waikato. Hamilton, the heart of New Zealand's dairy farming industry, is the nearest major city lying just 1 hours drive away. New Zealands largest city Auckland is 3 hours (200km) driving distance and the holiday playgrounds of Taupo, Rotorua and Mount Ruapehu are a mere 2 hours from Waitomo.

We take a maximum of 8 participants per tour.

Session Time

We suggest you allow 5 hours for the entire experience. Daily tours operate at 9am, 11am and 2pm. Tours are subject to availability and weather conditions.

Guidelines & Restrictions

While this is an adventurous activity it is suitable for those at a beginner level. You will need to be 16 years and over and weigh more than 45kg.

To complete the Black Abyss caving adventure tour requires a moderate level of fitness. All equipment is provided, including footwear, tubes, wetsuits, helmets, abseiling devices and safety equipment. Just bring yourself, your swimwear, a towel and a thirst for adventure.
