Overview

Overview

Ready for some real mountain bike adventure? It starts right here when we drive our wagon up a local farm track to 1700 metres in the heart of the Dunstan Mountains - home to some of Central Otago's most stunning rock formations with epic views. This is fast, rocky and thrilling single track riding with big descents.

Once we have reached our destination, choose between two different trails depending on how extreme you wish to take it. Select from "Leaning Rock Trail" or the "Dunstan Mountain Traverse."

Leaning Rock Trail - This is a 1700 metre descent on sheep and 4WD tracks. If you're not 100% confident, easier trails around technical obstacles are available if you prefer. This track is suited best to the more advanced road rider however can still be done by the adventurous off road mountain biker. Some rider have rated this ride as the best they have ever ridden!

Take in the spectacular scenery over looking Lake Dunstan, central Otago as well as views of Mt Cook, The Remarkables, Mt Earnslaw and Old Man Range.

Dunstan Mountain Traverse - Another great track down the mountain, rated grade 4+. At the top, we ride north for 8km along the top of the Dunstan Mountains on 4WD trails. The descent then commences as we make our way along both a rough dual track and a disused gold mining water race along the Devil Creek Canyon.

Be sure to take in the great views of Mt Cook, The Pisa Range, Mt Aspiring and Lake Dunstan.
