Kayaking & Fishing Adventure - Full Day
Overview
Your day begins when we collect you from your Auckland city accommodation. If you are staying outside of the area we will be able to arrange a meeting place with you, prior to your fishing trip. We then go to buy some fresh bait and you get a chance to learn more about the fish that can be caught in this fantastic region. You will also learn about which type of bait is good for which types of fish and why certain baits and fishing methods are unsuitable or suitable for kayak fishing.
While you sit comfortably in our luxury 4WD, we take you through some spectacular scenery to the designated fishing spot. Along the way we will stop at particularly scenic places so that you can take some photos. You will be fishing at one of our favourite fishing spots. We are proud to say that we have never come home without fish and we intend to keep it that way!
When we get to the beach we unpack the gear, bring the kayaks to the water's edge and prepare the bait. This is followed with a safety briefing. We then pack the gear into the kayaks and launch into the water! We will be traveling with, among other things, a fish-finder and GPS, VHF radio and flares to ensure ultimate enjoyment and safety.
For the next few hours we will be kayaking along the stunning coastline, relaxing, and fishing using various methods - the mixture of which is usually the secret of our success each day!
Fish such as snapper, kingfish, gurnard, kahawai, trevally and John Dory are all caught in this area. Any fish that are within the legal limit can be kept.
For lunch we will land on a beach and you will get the opportunity to have a swim. Lunch, snacks and hot/cold drinks are all provided.
At the end of the day we return you and your prized catch to your pick-up location . And if you don't know how to fillet or prepare your fish, we can do it for you!
